Floating Fragments 2024

Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennale - 2024

Floating Fragments (2024), installed in the Corniche Lake at Lake Park, Abu Dhabi, draws attention to the increasing risk of flooding, as extreme weather events become more frequent due to climate change. A house is depicted having been submerged by an imagined flood with only its terracotta roof visible, touching on the threat that urbanisation will obscure cultural heritage. Nusrat encourages sensitivity to the fragile balance between development and nature, fostering proactive discourse on environmental challenges before disaster strikes.
